Our verdict

LiberalMind endorses Brian Jack

Election Day is Tuesday, November 3, 2026, and voting is already underway in Georgia. This is the whole race — the records, the claims against each candidate, and what the sources actually show. Read the research, and decide which flaw you can live with.

The setup

Georgia's 3rd District, southwest of Atlanta, is deep Republican ground: PVI R+15, and Rep. Brian Jack (R) won the open seat in 2024 by about 33 points. Jack ran unopposed for renomination. His challenger is Maura Keller (D), who won the Democratic primary with 60.8%. Jack raised $2.43 million through October 14; Keller raised $246,621 (FEC figures via the Green Papers).

Brian Jack (Republican)

The record: Jack, a Peachtree City native, was White House political director in the first Trump administration and a senior adviser to Speakers McCarthy and Johnson before winning this seat in 2024, when Drew Ferguson vacated it. He is, per the GA Files' FEC tracking, the most AIPAC-funded member of the Georgia delegation ($154,980 in PAC and bundled support). He is completing his first term.

Pros: A proven conservative now holding the office, with a record in the executive and leadership trenches of his own party before he ever cast a House vote; a nomination unopposed because his own side saw no reason to contest it.

Cons: One term is a short file, and an administration staffer's record is loyalty-tested more than independence-tested. Voters get little evidence of where he would break with his own leadership — the audit continues.

The flaw, plainly: Jack's thin House record is the only caveat, and under our rules a short record is a watch item, not a demerit.

Maura Keller (Democratic)

The record: Keller is a veteran running on a veteran-and-affordability campaign. No prior elected office was located.

Pros: Military service and a campaign aimed at costs — the concerns of the district she asks to represent.

Cons: She carries her party's program into an R+15 district with no documented break toward our values, and no service record in which one could exist.

The flaw, plainly: Keller's flaw is the caucus. Admirable biography, opposing program.

OUR CALL

LiberalMind endorses Brian Jack.

The incumbent is a proven conservative serving in the office, renominated without opposition. The challenger offers a service biography behind the other party's program. That is the standard geometry of this series, and it produces the standard call.
